I've had the pleasure of working for Donal Scullion again, mastering the album "Behavior" for his band "Uncle Social" - a great name and a great band. In their own words, "Uncle Social are a band that's shunned the perpetual stereotypes & instead concentrate on the craft of quality song writing & effortless frontmanship!". I did have one slight issue with this one - they describe their music genre as "Buckets of noisy striped paint!!". Unfortunately, that's not a genre that exists in metadata descriptors for CD-Text or MP3 tags...
Miss Kate and the Higher State
With an edgy attitude, Miss Kate and her band are set to make a mark on the modern music scene. She was great fun to work with and knew exactly what she wanted. And her launch was a great excuse for a party too. Her music is available from Amazon, who will burn a CD on demand. Every day is a school day!
I'm delighted to have worked for The Twenty, a punk-influenced independent rock band from Belfast who released their debut 5-track EP "Camarilla" on 23 June (on all the usual platforms but free at: thetwenty.bandcamp.com). Recorded by John O'Kelly at Westland Studios, Dublin, "the songs ignite, and charge towards their finale without exception, driven by a unified and in-it-together band" (Goldenplec).
